Rachel Foley
Since I can remember, movement has been an integral part of my life. From a young age, I was immersed in sports, loving the involvement in community and being a part of a team. It wasn’t until my early 20’s that I found yoga, after compressing two discs while cliff jumping. Yoga was initially a remedy for healing, however, I quickly fell in love with the practice, and the associated spirituality, breathwork and mind/body connection. When I studied under Jacqueline Heisel in 2013, it wasn’t with the intention to teach. However, when I was provided the opportunity to teach a volleyball team at University, my passion for teaching grew.
With a curiosity and interest in health and wellness, I studied to became a Holistic Nutritionist at The Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2016. My desire to help others feel their best is innate, through both nutrition and my first true love…movement. I’ll never forget my first reformer pilates class. The precision and technicality was something that had been missing from my practice, and I was inspired to learn more. It was important to me to become classically trained according to Joseph Pilates modalities. I became Mat and Reformer certified through MMC in 2023.
My classes bring a “mind to body” approach, syncing breath with movement, while bringing awareness and intention to the body. My goal is to foster energy, lengthening, alignment + strength.
Summerhill House is a place for me to share my passion of Pilates. I look forward to helping you connect with your body - your house, through movement.
